Increasing image quality on VPS
1. Change the Screen Resolution
- Right-click on the desktop → Display settings.
- Under Display resolution, select 1920×1080 or higher.
- Click Keep changes.
2. Set 32-Bit Color Depth
- Go to Start → Settings → System → Display → Advanced display settings.
- Under Colors, choose Highest (32-bit).
3. Optimize Windows Visual Effects
- Press Win + R, type sysdm.cpl.
- Open the Advanced tab → section Performance → click Settings.
- Select Adjust for best appearance, or manually enable:
- Smooth edges of screen fonts
- Show thumbnails instead of icons
- Enable desktop composition
- Smooth edges of screen fonts
4. If the Quality Is Still Low
🧩 Try another RDP client such as:
- Remote Desktop App (Microsoft Store)
- Royal TSX
🌐 If the connection is slow, check your VPS network speed.
⚙️ Advanced users can improve image quality via the Windows Registry:
- Open:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\WinStations\RDP-Tcp
- Find ColorDepth and set the value to 4 (which equals 32-bit color).
