Changes in SSL Certificate Validity Periods

General Information

Starting from March 15, 2026, certificate authorities have updated SSL certificate policies.

The maximum validity remains up to 1 year, but periodic revalidation is now required.

What has changed

  • certificates require regular revalidation
  • continuous use without verification is no longer allowed
  • certificates issued ранее for 2+ years require annual reissue

Why reissue is required

Reissuing is needed to:

  • confirm domain ownership
  • improve security
  • comply with updated CA policies

Without reissue, the certificate may become invalid or stop working properly.

Important

It is recommended to:

  • monitor reissue
  • complete validation on time
  • reinstall the certificate after reissue
