What are Child NS

Child Name Servers are required when the name servers are located within the same domain, such as ns1.mydomain.com.
They allow the domain registry to associate the NS hostnames with their IP addresses.

Steps

1. Log in to your control panel.

2. Open Orders → Domain name.

3. Open the domain order.

4. Go to Child name servers.

5. Add the NS hostname and its IP address.

6. Add the second NS server.

7. Set the created NS servers as the main name servers for the domain.

Importan

  • The IP addresses must be reachable.
  • Without child NS, such configuration will not work.
  • Required for most generic and regional domain zones.
